Notes About N.E. Iowans in the Service

PLAINFIELD—Henry Stufflebeam, fireman first class on the USS Perkins, writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stufflebeam, that he was in Tokyo bay when the Japanese surrender was signed. This is the first word received from him since June.  He has had two and one-half years Navy service.
