Neal J. Strub, Sgt., has been thru some hard fighting in Italy. He went overseas to North Africa a year ago and is now with the heavy artillery in the famous Texas division. Neal was with the invasion troops when they opened the Salerno beach head last September and again when they went ashore to establish a beach head in January. He spent 24 days in a hospital last November but never told why.

Neil Joseph Strub was born Mar. 20, 1917 to Joseph C. and Marie M. Larson Strub. He died Dec. 15, 1975 and is buried in Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Merrill, IA.
