Return Body of Gerald Steward
The body of Marine Pfc. Gerald Steward, 20, son of Arlie Steward, 132 North Fortieth Street, has been returned to the United States aboard the army transport Sergeant Morris E. Crain from Honolulu.
A Thomas Jefferson high school graduate in 1942, Steward was killed in action on Marianas island on July 25, 1944.
Surviving are his father and stepmother; his mother, Ethel B. Kotroczo, Omaha; three brothers, Eugene Steward of Council Bluffs, Fireman 2/c Arlin Steward, serving aboard the USS Boxer, Seaman 1/c Robert Steward of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Arline Berens of Highland, Calif.; and two step-brothers, Daniel Linehan of Council Bluffs and Cpl. Thoms E. Linehan of Fort Knox, Ky
Gentlemen Mortuary of Omaha will be in charge of services when the body is returned here. Burial will be in Westlawn military cemetery [Omaha].

Pfc. Gerald Steward
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a. m. at the John A. Gentleman mortuary in Omaha for Pfc. Gerald Steward, 20, son of Arlie Steward, 132 North Fortieth Street. Young Steward, who was killed in action on Guam July 23 (sic), 1944, will be buried in Westlawn Military cemetery in Omaha. American Legion post will conduct graveside rites.
