FORMER GREENE WOMAN VISITING HERE NOW, GETS REPORT OF SON’S SAFETY

Mrs. Anna Stevenson, former Greene woman, arrived in Greene Friday accompanied by her son, Private Charles Stevenson, who is on a furlough from Fort George G. Mead, Maryland.  She reports that word was received from another son, Arthur, in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, that he is safe following the raid by the Japs.  He has been stationed on the U.S.S. New Orleans.  Information had first circulated that Arthur was among the missing. Arthur has been in the United States Navy for five years, having enlisted after his first four-year enlistment period was completed.
