Pvt. Stevens Crash Victim in France

Pvt. Earl Wendell Stevens, Waterloo, was injured during December in an auto mishap somewhere in France while serving with a tank destroyer battalion, it was learned here Wednesday in a letter from a Red Cross worker in a hospital In France.

Private Stevens, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Stevens, 1307 Englewood avenue, who sustained a fractured hip and head injuries, was not able to write the letter.

This is the second time he has been hospitalized overseas. He was wounded in action Feb. 12 in Italy but had returned to duty.

The Purple Heart has been presented him for these wounds.
