Memorial Services at Moville Sunday for Cpl. Spangler

Moville, Ia.—Special:  Memorial services for Cpl. Kenneth Allen Spangler will be held at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the United Brethren Church.  Cpl. Spangler was killed in action in France on August 27.  The son of Mrs. Roy A. Spangler of Hinton, he was born at Murray, Neb., March 21, 1914, and lived there until he was 2 when he moved to Moville with his parents.  In October, 1941, he was inducted into the Army.  He had been overseas one year and served in the African and Italian theaters of war before being transferred to France on August 26.  He is survived by his mother, one sister, Mrs. Hazel Lohse of Moville, and two brothers, Linval B. and John Robert, in the armed forces.  His father died four years ago.  Cpl. Spangler was graduated from Moville high school in 1935.  A chaplain and a quartet from the Sioux City air base will attend the memorial rites and the American Legion and auxiliary will conduct services.
