Salix, Ia.—Pfc. Donald R. Smith of the medical corps is returning after 36 months overseas in the European theater of operations and was scheduled to arrive at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., prior to coming here to visit relatives.

S. Sgt. Donald R. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. P.T. Smith, 107 23d Street, is home after being honorably discharged on the point system at Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Sgt. Smith, who enlisted in the army more than four years ago and took training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., spent over 39 months at the 147th general hospital in Honolulu.
