Pfc. Richard L. Small

 

MEMORIAL MASS FOR PFC. RICHARD SMALL WILL BE THURSDAY

A memorial mass for Pfc. Richard L. Small will be held in St. Boniface Catholic church at 8 o’clock Thursday morning.

Pfc. Small, who was killed in action in France on December 7, according to a report to the parents from the War Department, entered the service on March 28, 1944, and went overseas on October 1.  He was a graduate of Central high school with the mid-year class in 1944.

Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Small; two sisters, Mrs. Rudy LaFerrier, Elk Point, S.D., and Miss Mary Margaret Small, Sioux City; and one brother, Pvt. John W. Small, stationed at Camp Beal, Cal.

Richard Leo Small was born May 3, 1925 to Leo Michael and Beatrice Katherine Myers Small. He died Dec. 7, 1944 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
