Robert Slagter

 

IN UNIFORM

Robert Slagter, chief machinist mate, son of John Slagter, 905 Douglas street, spent part of his 15-day leave with his father, and the rest of the time with his mother, Mrs. Augusta Slagter, at Marcus, Ia. He now is going to Newport, R. I., where he will be reassigned. Mr. Slagter has been in the navy for seven years, three of which were during this war. He has served in both oceans. He was graduated from high school at Marcus and while there was a Journal carrier for about four years.
