Former Local Man Killed in Action

Lt. Everett W. Shadden of the photographic section in the signal corps was killed in action on July 22, according to word received here.

Lt. Shadden received his photographic training in studios of Hollywood and entered the service in July, 1942.

The son of the late W. F. Shadden and Mrs. Ed Taylor of Council Bluffs, he had resided in Los Angeles, Calif. For the last 21 years.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his widow and three children, Marianne and Joanna, 15-year-old twin daughters, and one son, Tommy; his sister Mrs. Al Frandsen, 233 Harrison street at with whom he was reunited two years ago at the Union station in Omaha after 19 years separation.

Lt. Shadden was residing with his wife and family in California when he entered the service the day after Pearl Harbor. He was also a veteran of world war No. 1.
