Corporal P. J. Ryan has returned to his post in the British West Indies after spending a furlough with his mother, Mrs. Steve Ryan.

Paul J. Ryan was born June 8, 1917 to Stephen Michael and Mary Eldora Sullivan Ryan. He died Aug. 4, 1944.

Cpl. Ryan served in World War II with the U.S. Army 796th Artillery Anti-Aircraft Automatic Weapons Battalion. He died at Camp Shanks, NY as the result of an allergic reaction to a typhus inoculation.
