Cpl. R. V. Rozelle

 

 

WINS PURPLE HEART IN PACIFIC AREA

Cpl. R. V. Rozelle, son of Mrs. Grace Remington, 1623 Omaha street, awarded the purple heart for wounds received July 4, 1944, somewhere in the South Pacific area.  He was wounded in the stomach by shrapnel and received serious burns.

Cpl. Rozelle was evacuated to a rear area hospital and arrived in this country Christmas day for further treatment.

A brother, Harry Remington, seaman second class, is serving with the Navy in the South Pacific.

Cpl. Rozelle now is in Sioux City on leave.  He will depart early Wednesday for a base hospital at San Diego.
