Lt (j.g.) William Read

 

 

TRAER—Ensign William Read, son of Mrs. Frances Read, and former Traer high school athlete, arrived here the last week from the naval hospital at Portsmouth, Va., where he has been recovering many months from an operation on his spine as a result of a fall suffered while in the navy, seriously injuring his back and causing partial paralysis of the left leg.  He expects to receive his navy discharge soon and will return to Florida, where he attended school before entering service.

William Wilson Read was born June 20, 1917 to Clarence H. and Frances Brown Read. He died June 4, 1998 and is buried in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

Lt (JG) Read served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
