Learns Son Is Reported Missing

Pfc. Charles E. Punteney has been missing in action in Germany since March 26, according to word received by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Punteney, 24 Benton street. Entering the service in June, 1944, he arrived overseas last December. His mother, Mrs. Clarrisa Putney resides at 922 Avenue H. Pfc. Putney is the father of six children.

Charles Edward Punteney was born Jan. 9, 1913 to Frank and Clarissa Smith Punteney. He died Mar. 26, 1945 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.

Pvt. Punteney served in World War II with the U.S. Army 33rd Armored Regiment, 3rd Armored Division and was KIA in Germany and awarded the Purple Heart.
