Merrill E. Potts

 

 

 

IN UNIFORM

S. Sgt. Earl E. Potts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary V. Potts, 3310 Ridge Avenue, is serving as a mechanic with a fighter unit of the Fifth air force in the southwest Pacific. He enlisted in the army in January, 1942, and shortly thereafter was assigned to his present unit. His brother, Merrill E. Potts, is serving in the navy also in the Pacific area.

Earl E. Potts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy V. Potts, 3310 Ridge street, has been promoted to the rank of master sergeant. He is in the southwest Pacific area where he has been stationed for the last 35 months. He also received the purple heart for wounds received November 28 on Morotai island. His brother, Merrill E. Potts, machinist’s mate second class is also stationed in the southwest Pacific area on an aircraft carrier. He has been on sea duty for three years.
