Robert F. Petitjean, seaman first class, son of Mrs. George Fintzell, 1213 W. Second street, is now in a United States naval hospital in California, recovering from a back injury received while on duty in the South Pacific.

Robert F. Pettijean, mailman third class, son of Mrs. George Fintzell, 1213 West Second street, called his mother recently from San Francisco.  He served 10 months aboard a destroyer with the Little Beavers, was hospitalized for four months with a back injury, and then served 14 months aboard a destroyer escort.  He took part in the invasion of the Philippines, Iwo Jima and Okinawa.  Robert graduated from St. Boniface grade school, attended Central high school, was sworn into the Navy on October 27, 1942, and received his boot training at Great Lakes, Ill.
