Cletus Offerman

 

 

Alta Vista—Cletus Offerman arrived home Sunday for a short furlough having returned to the States from France.  He arrived at Newport News last week.  Cletus entered the service in February, 1943, and was never granted a furlough before being sent overseas in September of that year. He was in Africa and Italy and took part in the invasion of southern France. Cletus will go next Sunday to Ft. Sheridan, Ill., where he will be given his discharge.

Cletus Joseph Offerman was born Nov. 11, 1910 to John and Rose Duster Offerman. He died Oct. 16, 1985 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Elma, IA.
