Gordon L. Nelson, torpedoman’s mate, third class, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence G. Nelson, 1005 20th street, is at the naval training station, Norfolk, Va., for training for duties aboard a destroyer of the Atlantic fleet. He has seen service at New Guinea, New Britain, New Georgia, Guadalcanal, Ulithi and the Admiralty, Marshall, Mariana and Philippine islands. He wears ribbons for the American are campaign and the Asiatic-Pacific area campaign with five stars. Prior to entering the service, he was employed by the Wincharger Corporation.
