Charles LeRoy Neal, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Neal, 2018 Avenue C., has been graduated from the Columbus army air field and has been awarded his silver wings and has been commissioned a second lieutenant.

Awarded Air Medal in France

Charles L. Neal, 21, a co-pilot on a Flying Fortress, has been awarded the air medal at an army air force base in England, it was announced Friday.

Lt. Neal’s wife, Mrs. Emma J. Neal, resides at 208 Twelfth avenue. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Neal, 2018 Avenue C.

Prior to entering the air force in January, 1943, Lt. Neal was employed by the Martin Aircraft corporation in Omaha. He received his pilot’s wings in January, 1944 at Columbus, Miss.
