To Hold Rites for John Mulick

ALTA VISTA – Memorial services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic church at St. Cecelia Saturday morning at 10:30 o’clock for John Mark Mulick, who was killed in action at Pearl Harbor Dec. 7. John B. Mulick, father of the deceased, last week received a message from the bureau of navigation declaring his son officially dead.

John Mulick was born March 27, 1920, and besides his father is survived by one sister, Mrs. Andrew Balk of Elma, and two brothers, Private Joseph Mulick and Robert Mulick. He was graduated from the Immaculate Conception academy at Elma in 1938 and enlisted in the U. S. navy Sept. 23, 1940.

He was the second young man from this vicinity officially known to have been killed at Pearl Harbor. Paul F. Johnann, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Johann, was reported by the navy department to have been killed during the same attack.
