Ellsworth F. Moser, son of Mrs. Clifford Brown, 612 S. Helen street, has been promoted from machinist mate first class to chief machinist mate. In the navy six years, Chief Machinists Mate Moser is on the U.S.S. Childs.

Sioux Cityan in Service 7 Years Given Discharge

Ellsworth F. Moser, chief machinist’s mate, has been discharged as of September 5. His seven years duty included service on the U.S.S. Langley for four years, after which he was transferred to the U.S.S. Childs shortly before the sinking of the Langley.

Mr. Moser received the presidential citation for duties performed on the Philippine Islands where he was stationed at the time of its attack. A son of Mrs. Clifford Brown, 612 S. Helen Street, he now is in San Diego where he expects to make his home. His wife is the former Peggy Iles of Perth, Australia.
