Sgt. Jack Miller Loses Life in Belgium Action


Sgt. Jack Miller, 22, son of Mrs. Ann Dusseldorf, former Sioux Cityan now living in Richmond, Cal., was killed in action about January 1, while serving with the infantry in Belgium. His mother, who received the notification from the War Department, sent the news to her father, John Deighton, 1112 19th street, Sioux City.

Sgt. Miller was born in Sioux City. He attended Floyd school and Central high school.

Surviving besides his mother are two sisters and three half-brothers, all of Richmond.

Harry John “Jack” Miller was born Oct. 14, 1924 to Harry Dean and Ann Irene Mary Deighton Miller. He died Jan. 9, 1945 and is buried in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, CA.
