Walnut Man Killed;
Another Is Missing

One Walnut soldier was killed and another is missing, the war department informed two families here Wednesday.

Pfc. James F. McLoud, son of Mrs. V. A. McLoud, was killed in action in Luxembourg on Dec. 27. He was a member of the 2nd armored division, known as “Hell on Wheels.” He had been overseas since September.

Surviving is his widow, living in Tulsa, Okla., a sister, Mrs. Raymond Wolf of Walnut, and his mother.

Mrs. and Mrs. Ernest Holtz, who live on a farm near here, were informed their son, Pvt. Edward Holtz, is missing in action in Luxembourg as of Dec. 27. He was employed in the Nelson garage before entering the service. He has twin brothers, Marvin and Mervin, in the army in this country.
