Sgt. Ralph Lindley, Flier from Blencoe, Missing Over India 

Blencoe, Ia.—Special:  The War Department notified Mrs. Elizabeth Lindley that her husband, S. Sgt. Ralph Lindley was missing in action over India, January 11.  Sgt. Lindley was a member of a B-29 crew, the first to bomb Tokyo.  The widow and a daughter, Sherrill, 4 years old, live here.

Ralph Clarence Lindley was born June 21, 1913 to Albert Leroy and Cora Ethel Warren Lindley. He died Dec. 26, 1992 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, IA.

*Note the above newspaper article mentions his ‘widow’ when he was MIA but not declared KIA.
