Mr. & Mrs. Joe Lewis received word that their son, Corporal Arthur Lewis, has been transferred to Camp Polk, Louisiana. He has recently been stationed at Camp Ibis, California.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lewis, who were married Monday, July 23.  The wedding was performed at the Lutheran church in Shreveport, Louisiana.  The bride is the former Eileen Knapp, daughter of T. W. Knapp of this vicinity.  Arthur is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lewis and is serving in the U. S. Army and is now stationed at Camp Polk, Louisiana.

Mrs. Arthur Lewis and Nadine Knapp returned Saturday from Seattle, Washington, where they have been employed in the Boeing Aircraft factory.

Mrs. Joe Lewis received a “Mother’s Day” cablegram from her son, Pfc. Arthur Lewis, stationed “Somewhere in Germany.”

Arthur Olin Lewis was born Dec. 1, 1915 to Joseph and Nellie M. Williams Lewis. He died Mar. 30, 2000 and is buried in Resthaven Cemetery, West Des Moines, IA.
