Pfc. Edward W. Ladwig

Denison, Ia.—Pfc. Edward W. Ladwig, whose wife, Mary, lives on route 2, Denison, has been cited by the 361st infantry regiment of the 97th “Powder River” division, and awarded the combat infantryman badge for actual participation in combat against the enemy with the Fifth army in Italy.

Edward W. Ladwig was born Dec. 6, 1923 to Albert Carl and Hulda Louise Blunk Ladwig. He died Jan. 3, 2004 and is buried in Ida Grove Catholic Cemetery, Ida Grove, IA.

Sgt. Ladwig served in World War II with the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
