S/Sgt. Gerald J. Kuhn

ON GUADALCANAL

Staff Sergeant Gerald J. Kuhn, who has been serving in the southwest Pacific since December 26, 1942, is now stationed on Guadalcanal, it has been learned by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kuhn, east of Greene.

Gerald entered the service May 19, 1942, and received his basic training at Camp Crowder, Missouri, and later was moved to Rome, New York, then to Camp Stone, before he was given his overseas assignment.

Before he was moved to Guadalcanal, Gerald was stationed at New Caledonia.

In the last letter received by his parents, Gerald spoke of having visited Sergeant Gerald Chukker, who is stationed about 15 miles from Sergeant Kuhn.
