Pvt. Harold C. Karras

 

 

 

IN UNIFORM

PVT. Harold C. Karras, son of Chris Karras, 1100 Fourth Street, has joined the veteran 142d infantry regiment of the 36th Texas division, fighting in France.

FORMER CENTRAL HIGH PUPIL IS WOUNDED

Pvt. Harold C. Karras, an infantryman in the Seventh army, was wounded in action in Germany March 20, according to notice received from the War Department by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer White, Bolstein apartments.  Pvt. Karras is the son of Chris Karris, 1100 Fourth street.

A former pupil at Central high school, the 19-year-old private received his basic training at Camp Stewart, Ga., and went overseas the end of January this year.  He is now in a hospital in England, where he has been awarded the purple heart.
