Men In Service

Lieut. H. Leverett Jacobi, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Jacobi, 14 Carroll apartments, received his commission as second lieutenant at Corpus Christi naval air base October 30.  Lieut. Jacobi, now stationed at Miami, Fla., is a graduate of Central high school. He attended Morningside college two years and studied voice two years under Stanley Deakin at the Kansas City conservatory of music.  He is well known as a soloist in Sioux City churches.  Lieut. Jacobi enlisted in the navy air corps November, 1941, and transferred to the marine air corps in July.  In word to his parents, Lieut. Jacobi said his three years of football experience under Coach Lloyd Martin at Central was a good foundation training for the marines.  A brother, Corporal J. W. Jacobi, is in the Army Air Corps in Karochi, India.
