Lt. Thomas Roger Hughes

 

 

 

TO CALIFORNIA

Lieut. Thomas Roger Hughes left Sioux City Thursday night after having spent 10 days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Hughes, Bellevue apartments, and with his wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Williams, 3903 Orleans avenue.  Lieut. Hughes completed officer’s training in aviation ordnance at Aberdeen proving ground, Aberdeen, Md., September 5.  Mrs. Hughes (the former Marjorie Williams) will accompany Lieut. Hughes.  They will visit Lieut. Hughes’ sister, Miss Bette Jean Hughes, who is attending junior college in Long Beach, Cal., before Lieut Hughes reports for duty at Santa Ana, Cal.

IN UNIFORM

Thomas R. (“Roger”) Hughes has been promoted to first lieutenant, according to advices received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Hughes, Bellevue apartments.  Lt. Hughes is attached to the 12th air depot group in Australia.  He has been overseas since April, 1944. He enlisted and left with the Iowa national guard contingent in February, 1944, and later received officer training at Aberdeen, Md.
