Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Honnold Jr., of Iowa City, are visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Honnold Sr.

Charles has completed his first nine months of training in the Enlisted Reserve Corps and is here on a ten day furlough. He is waiting his call for induction into the Army and will be rated as a Pfc. in the signal corps. Mrs. Honnold will remain in LeMars.

Private Charles Honnold, who has been training with the signal corps at Camp Kohler, California, arrived home Monday to get acquainted with his son born a few weeks ago.

NEWS OF THE BOYS IN THE SERVICE.

Pvt. Charles A. Honnold Jr’s parents received a letter from him from somewhere in Burma. He is attached to a signal operation company which is part of Gen. Stillwell’s American trained Chinese Army. They had been moved from headquarters to the jungles and had just arrived at their final destination.

NEWS OF THE BOYS IN THE SERVICE.

Charles Honnold, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Honnold, who has been with the signal corps in North Burma for around a year, suffered noncombat injuries during a recent raid by United States forces, and is now recuperating in a hospital in India. Charles is a radio operator with combat troops in that jungle area where it rains almost every day at this time of year.
