Notes About N.E. Iowans in the Service
PLAINFIELD—Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Holtkamp of Little Creek, Va., are visiting in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Holtkamp. After four years service and attaining the rank of Lt. (j. g.) Bernard has received an honorable discharge from the Navy. Enlisting in October, 1941, he had two and one-half years convoy duty in the Atlantic and since returning to the States, he has served as instructor in communications at the amphibious training base at Little Creek.
