Men In Service

Privates Jack and Richard Holman, sons of Mrs. Mildred Holman, 1409 Villa Avenue, are in the army corps. Jack is stationed at Chanute field, Illinois and will complete training for the ground crew November 10. He enlisted here last May 26. His brother is stationed at the Santa Ana Air Base in California, where he is receiving his preliminary preflight training. He enlisted August 1. Both are Central High School graduates and have lived in Sioux City most of their lives.

IN UNIFORM.

Sgt. Jack W. Holman, son of Mrs. Mildred Holman, 1409 Villa avenue, is serving as an instrument specialist with a Ninth air force B-26 Marauder group which has been commended for a successful attack on the river town of Merzig, Germany.  Sgt. Holman has been in the European theater of operations for more than a year.

Jack Warren Holman was born Jan. 29, 1919 to Clarence Alvin and Mildred Winther Holman. He died Aug. 1, 1994 and is buried in Sacramento County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Sacramento, CA.
