Private First Class Joseph E. Haried has arrived overseas in the Pacific area, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Haried, 2718 Nebraska street.

TRINITY HIGH GRADUATE DECORATED


Pfc. Joseph E. Haried (right), son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Haried, 2718 Nebraska street, has received the purple heart for injuries suffered on Saipan in June. He was one of the heroic first battalion of Marines who survived the battle in which the 1,554-foot peak Mount Tapotchan, was taken. Only 200 men of the battalion were left. He has recovered from his wounds and returned to his group. He was graduated from Trinity high school in June, 1943, and entered the service the next month.
