James C. Hagan

 

 

 

The funeral of James C. ("Jimmy") Hagan, 19, seaman second class, who died of pneumonia December 28 in the Naval Marine hospital, San Diego, Cal., will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning in Blessed Sacrament Catholic church. Rev. Newman Flanagan will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.

The body was scheduled to arrive today. It will be taken to the home of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Hagan, 2611 Jennings street. The rosary will be recited there this evening and Friday evening.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Gordon, Elmer Swanson, Joe Chleborad, Harry Page, Joe Flaherty and Roy Kerr.

Among the survivors besides the parents is a brother, T. Sgt. Bernard N. Hagan, serving in the air forces in the southwest Pacific.

Relatives from out of the city who will attend the funeral will be Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Hagan of Detroit, Mrs. M. E. Allen of Los Angeles, Genevieve Hagan of Independence, Ia., and Joe Dillon of Omaha.

The parents had been with their son for about two weeks before his death and with Mrs. Allen, his aunt, returned here with the body.

The Larkin funeral home is directing arrangements.
