Cadet Billy C. Gray

 

 

YOUNG CADET

One of the youngest aviation cadets, now undergoing training to qualify for commissions in the Army air corps, is Billy C. Gray, son of Dr. and Mrs. B. L. Gray, 3116 Leech avenue.  Billy is a graduate of East high school and attended both Morningside college and Indiana State college.  He completed both the primary and secondary flying courses at the municipal airport here before enlisting as an aviation cadet.  He now is receiving basic training at Moffett field, California.  Billy is only 20 years old.

Winning Wings

Moffett Field, California – B.C. Gray, 21, of Sioux City took another step toward winning his wings in the United States army air corps when he finished 10 weeks of basic flight training here today. He will proceed to Phoenix, Arizona to begin advanced training, the final step toward a commission as a second lieutenant in the army air corps reserve. He began his basic flight training at Moffett Field November 4 after completing primary instruction at the Graham flying school in Sioux City.

Gray is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Gray, 3116 Leech Avenue. He is a graduate of East High School and Terre Haute (Ind.) State Teachers College.

He also attended Morningside College.

WINS ARMY WINGS

Sioux City’s newest member of the Army flying service is Lieut. W. C. Gray, son of Dr. and Mrs. B. L. Gray, 3116 Leech avenue.   Lieut. Gray has completed the air corps advanced flying school training at Luke field, Phoenix, Ariz., and has been commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army air corps reserve.
