Pvt. John L. Gerking, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gerking of Leeds, is training at Kingsley Lake, Camp Blanding, Fla. He is serving with the paratroops.

IN UNIFORM.
Pfc. John L. Gerking, of Leeds, is stationed at Bischiefherm, Germany, with the anti-aircraft battery in the army of occupation. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gerking, he has been overseas nine months and participated in combat with the First Army. He was with the 69th division when it met the Russians on the Elbe river and was stationed at Osterfield, near Berlin. He took his initial training at Camp Blanding, Fla., and was stationed there until going overseas January 3, 1945. He has been in service for 15 months.
