Lt. Fred Ganger

Peterson, Iowa – Fred C. Ganger, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Ganger, Peterson, received his wings when he graduated as a second lieutenant from the Marfa, Texas advanced flying school. He was commissioned after finishing a course in training in twin-engine planes. Lieut. Ganger is a former student of Iowa State College and a graduate of Peterson consolidated high school.

Peterson, Ia.—Lt. Fred Ganger, pilot of a C-47 transport plane, who made 22 missions into Germany and 100 missions over the continent, has arrived home from 18 month’s overseas duty in the European war theater.  Lt. Ganger, with 126 points to his credit, will receive a discharge effective September 16.  He wears the presidential citation, and the air medal with oak leaf clusters.  On his return home, he met his 14-month-old daughter, Sue Carol, for the first time.
