Lt. Kenneth Furst

 

Lt. Kenneth Furst, Former Algona Boy, Now Overseas

Lt. Kenneth J. Furst, 20, after finishing his advanced flight, has reported overseas for combat duty.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Furst, now of Long Beach, Calif., and is a 1942 graduate of the Algona high school. Following his graduation he was employed in the K. D James drug store, later leaving for California. Before entering the service 17 months ago, he worked at the Port of Embarkation.

Lt. Furst received his “Silver Wings” as a navigator in July, 1944, and had his Army training at Sheppard Field, Texas, Creighton University Omaha, Santa Ana, Calif., MacDill Field, Florida, and at Hondo, Texas.
