Cpl. Fredinburg Wounded in Iwo Island Fighting

Cpl. Lee Fredinburg, whose wife and daughter Sharon Lee reside at 2100 S. Paxton street, has been wounded at Iwo Jima, according to word received by his wife.

Cpl. Fredinburg, in the Marine corps reserve, attended East high school and left for the service in December, 1942.

He took his basic training at San Diego, Cal., and was sent overseas in July, 1943.  He has been with the Fourth division of the signal corps under Maj. Gen. Clifton B. Cates.  He has been evacuated for medical treatment.

Cpl. Fredinburg is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ebert Fredinburg of the Paxton street address.
