Eugene M. Downey, Muscatine, is listed in a War Department announcement of 41 Iowa soldiers wounded in the European area, the Associated Press Washington bureau revealed today.
In all cases next of kin have been notified and have been kept informed directly of any change in status.

Eugene Michael Downey was born Feb. 27, 1920 to John and Sylvia B. Miller Downey. He died July 1, 2002 and is buried in Guttenberg Cemetery, Guttenberg, IA.
Sgt. Downey served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
