IRETON:

Mr. and Mrs. Ed DeJager received a V-mail from their son, Pfc. Norman DeJager now stationed in the Philippines.  Norman, who is in the Infantry, wrote that he is not sure whether the insects, the Japs, or the rains are the most annoying, but at least they can do something about the Japs.  He mentioned that he was writing the letter in a foxhole over half full of water and mud.
