Sheldon Officer Freed From Prison Camp in Germany

Sheldon, Ia.—Special:  Second Lt. David E. Crocker of Sheldon, son of Mrs. Georgia Parks of Harris, has been freed from Oflag prison camp No. 64 in Germany, according to word from Adjt. Gen. Ulio in Washington.  The official word was received through the United States military mission at Moscow.  Lt. Crocker is believed to be in Poland.  He was a paratrooper and captured by the Germans in Sicily in June, 1943.  He received his training at Fort Benning, Ga., and had been overseas only a short time when taken prisoner.
