IN FIELD ARTILLERY

Now serving with the field artillery at Camp Howze, Texas, Technician First Grade Stanton Conger, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Conger of Bristow, joined the Army in December, 1942.  He received his basic training at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana, and in November, 1943, was transferred to Texas.

Corporal Conger’s parents both served in World War one.  His mother, then Marie Rosenthal, was a member of the Army nurses corps and his father was with the infantry and saw action on the battlefields of France.
