MEN AND WOMEN IN SERVICE
Charles Adams, Sioux City Boat Club; Melvin J. Shadduck, 2453 McKinley street; Patrick Henry Tracy, 716 33d street; Oren J. Young, 4122 Ridge avenue; and Charles R. Carter, Sergeant Bluff, are receiving preflight training at the San Antonio aviation cadet center, San Antonio, Tex.

Flight Officer Charles R. Carter of Sergeant Bluff was the only Iowa member of a large graduation class representing more than 40 states at Eagle Pass army airfield, Tex. The silver wings of the army air force pilots were awarded to Flight Officer Carter.
