FORMER NASHUAN
DIES IN FRANCE

In Army Less Than Year;
Has Two Brothers in Service

Nashua, Ia.—Word of the death of Pvt. Fernly E. Bush, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Bush, Myrtle, Minn., former residents of Nashua, Ia., has been received by friends. He died as the result of wounds received June 16 while fighting in France.

Born in Nashua in 1924, he was a member of the Lutheran Church, and attended school here until moving with his parents to Minnesota in 1938. He attended Albert Lea high school until he was inducted into the Army July 3, 1943. He received his basic training at Camp Barkley, Tex., going overseas in December with an infantry medical detachment.

Surviving are his parents and three brothers: Pfc. Earl Bush, Fort Knox, Ky.; Staff Sgt. C. Doyal Bush, also serving in France; and Junior at home; also two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Bork, Minneapolis, Minn., and Hazel at home.

American Cemetery in Normandy

Hi Linda, Today, D-Day, we visited Fernly Bush’s grave at the American Cemetery in Normandy. You helped us with his photo and obituary for our book, Little Minnesota in World War II. We placed a white rose on his grave to honor his memory.
