REPORTS BACK TO EAST COAST AFTER VISIT ON LEAVE FROM FRANCE

Joseph Bombella, seaman 2/c, son of Mrs. Rose Bombella, 517 Van Buren S.W., left Saturday for Norfolk, Va., following a 20-day leave from overseas duty, recently in France. Seaman Bombella has seen service on both the Pacific and Atlantic, having been in the service since Aug. 1942.

His 2 brothers in the service are: Pfc. Anthony Bombella in the Bougainville area, where he was recently awarded the combat infantryman’s badge. Entering the service this month is John Bombella, now stationed at the Great Lakes for his boot training.

John Joseph Bombella was born Nov. 26, 1926 to Joseph and Rose Ramirez Bombella. He died Oct. 5, 1997 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, IA.
