Capt. Bernard V. Bolton

Prisoner Hubby Sends Flowers

Further proof that the “Yanks are on the alert” comes from Mrs. Bernard V. Bolton, 138 Locust lodge, who received a bouquet of fresh flowers from her husband, Capt. Bernard V. Bolton, an American prisoner of war in Germany, on her birthday.

Capt. Bolton had ordered the flowers recently on a prisoner post card, addressed to the Kehm flower shop in Des Moines, requesting flowers for his wife on her birthday, Easter and Mother’s day. Although the flowers failed to arrive on Christmas, Mrs. Bolton has been assured that further deliveries will arrive.
