Darrell F. Blunk

 

 

 

PAYNE:
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Doiel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nixon, Mrs. Dan Lobdell, George Doiel and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Doiel were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Frank Blunk and family. The dinner was in honor of Darrell Blunk, who is on furlough after many months of foreign service. He has been wounded twice and has spent some time in a hospital in Utah, where he will report at the end of his furlough. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Doiel and M. Nixon called at the Blunk home in the afternoon.

Darrell Franklin Blunk was born Sept. 3, 1924 to Frank M. and Hattie C. Doyle Blunk. He died Dec. 20, 1998 and is buried in Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS.

Darrell served in World War II with the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
