Pvt. Richard W. Blake

 

 

 

Pvt. Richard W. Blake, U. S. marine, has written his mother, Mrs. A. Blake Wagner of Oelwein, that he has arrived overseas. While training at Camp Elliott, San Diego, Cal., he won a medal for scoring as a sharpshooter. He was formerly employed by the John Deere Tractor Company and lived in Waterloo.

Richard W. Blake was born Feb. 10, 1923 to Rueben Cornelius and Amy Belle Wagner Blake. He died July 28, 2002 and is buried in Saint Peters Lutheran Cemetery, Denver, IA.
